Carry the Joy of Jesus: Make a Ripple

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
Matthew 28:19-20

Names of travelers and deposits needed as soon as possible!

Trip News:
Dear Parents,
I am sent home the final itinerary for the eighth grade trip on Monday. You will need to make a down payment for each person going on the trip as soon as possible (October 1). The down payment should be $100 per traveler. If you have travelers for which you are unable to make the deposit at this time, please let me know so we can cover their down payment until the time when you can repay it. The cost of the trip is $766.12, based on 16 students and 17 adults. If anyone would like to add an additional family member, that would be fine. The more who go, the cheaper the trip for everyone. Along with the itinerary is the paperwork for our first fund-raiser. If you have any questions, please call Terrie Fiehn.

I changed a couple of things to get the price of the trip down. They are less expensive tickets to Wicked (Can you say opera glasses?), and we dropped the cruise because we will have a ride on a ferry when we go to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. We will be leaving late Sunday evening so we will arrive early enough to walk around Times Square and nearby areas before dinner. We will return overnight on Wednesday/Thursday. Students will not attend school on Thursday. Again, we will leave late Sunday, May 1 and return early Thursday morning, May 5. We have decided not to use Hilton Points because we would be forced to stay in an area that is significantly less family/student friendly and fun. Finally, great news! Terrie Fiehn has agreed to head-up pizza sales. You will be hearing from her soon. Sue Davis has also had good ideas for fund-raising. Anyone interested in being part of the team that puts these fund-raisers together should contact Terrie immediately.

Thank you for your patience during the selection process. If you have any hot ideas for raising money, bring them on! Again, many thanks.

Good news! We were able to get tickets to the Diary of Anne Frank on Monday, October 18 at 10 A.M., Romeo and Juliet on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 10:00 A.M., and The Secret Life of Bees, on Tuesday, March 22 at 1:00 P.M. I will be sending home a permission slip for all three and a request for $15 to cover the cost of all three. I also ordered four adult tickets, in addition to mine, at $10 a piece, for each play. I think we can get them there in five cars. If you would like to chaperone any of these trips, and know now, let me know on the permission slip. Otherwise, we will figure out drivers closer to each event. Thank you.

***Bring in Pop Cans and Bottles, please for Guatemala!***

***Bring back trip form with traveler’s names on it and deposits.***
