The results of the voting for the eighth grade trip are
12 for NYC,
1 for Mackinaw Island Adventure, and
5 for Cedar Point and Detroit Adventure.
Several folks who voted for Cedar Point did mention they would support NYC if we could get the cost down. The travel agent is attempting to do that with the bonus points from the Davis family. There is a Hampton Inn near the Empire State Building, and we are looking into staying there rather than where we normally stay, to see if we could reduce the price of the trip. To figure out the actual cost of the trip, however, I need the number of those traveling. I also know, to determine that, you need to know how much the trip is…a catch 22. Would you please let me know how many folks from your family would go on the eighth grade trip, if we could get the price down a bit. I won’t hold you to it, but then I can give you an idea of the cost of this trip, so you can make your final decision. Thank you.

Good news! We were able to get tickets to the Diary of Anne Frank on Monday, October 18 at 10 A.M., Romeo and Juliet on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 10:00 A.M., and The Secret Life of Bees, on Tuesday, March 22 at 1:00 P.M. I will be sending home a permission slip for all three and a request for $15 to cover the cost of all three. I also ordered four adult tickets, in addition to mine, at $10 a piece, for each play. I think we can get them there in five cars. If you would like to chaperone any of these trips, and know now, let me know on the permission slip. Otherwise we will figure out drivers closer to each event. Thank you.
