Carry the Joy of Jesus: Make a Ripple

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
Matthew 28:19-20

Happy Halloween and thank you for your support for Covenant House!

Results of Christmas play tryouts will be posted on Monday morning. Thank you kids, for your willingness to perform.

Thank you so much for your generous donations of cookies for Covenant House. We made over $200 in addition to the Dress Down Day proceeds. It will be very cool for the kids to donate this much money that night. Thank you for allowing them to do this.

Cookies and Parent/Teacher Conference Requests Needed Tomorrow!

Tryouts for the Christmas play went very well today. However, everyone will need to subscribe to "no small parts, just small actors".  It will be a great production thanks to the many, varied talents of our students.  We will have a few call backs tomorrow for a few minutes after school and hope to post results, early next week.

Please remember to bring back your request for conference form on Friday, if it has not come back with a younger brother or sister.

Please, don't forget the cookies for Covenant House.  We are excited about this opportunity to support Covenant House.

Friday, October 29, there will be a Trinity School Dress Down Day for Covenant House Michigan, a homeless shelter for teens in the metropolitan Detroit area. Eighth graders will be baking cookies at home to sell to students on that Friday. The proceeds, in combination with the money earned from the Dress Down Day, will be donated to Covenant House Michigan at the International Candlelight Vigil for Homelessness on November 18 at Covenant House Michigan in Detroit. Eighth grade will attend that vigil and make the donation on behalf of the school that night. Cookies should be packaged in sandwich bags, two to a bag. We will sell the coolies for .50 per bag. Thank you for allowing your eighth grader to participate, if possible. Again, this is next Friday, the 29th.

lunes: The MEAP starts tomorrow!

MEAP tests begin Tuesday, October 12. Please encourage your students to eat a good breakfast and to get to bed early. I will try to control myself, so they will not have too much homework.

The number of travelers has increased. At present we have 17 students and 20 chaperones. When I have the names of everyone going, I will have the re-figured cost of the trip, but it will be less than the last amount I sent home.

Tomorrow I will be sending home a permission slip for the October 18 trip to Macomb Center for the Performing Arts to see The Diary of Anne Frank. (See below)

Have a great week in the Lord,

Sally Buss

Good news! We were able to get tickets to the Diary of Anne Frank on Monday, October 18 at 10 A.M., Romeo and Juliet on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 10:00 A.M., and The Secret Life of Bees, on Tuesday, March 22 at 1:00 P.M. I will be sending home a permission slip for all three and a request for $15 to cover the cost of all three. I also ordered four adult tickets, in addition to mine, at $10 a piece, for each play. I think we can get them there in five cars. If you would like to chaperone any of these trips, and know now, let me know on the permission slip. Otherwise, we will figure out drivers closer to each event. Thank you.

Please bring in your signed midterm.

Sorry about posting the blog today, rather than Friday.

I would have bet my life that the blog was posted on Friday, but Trina told me this morning that it was not. I just checked it and found she was correct...how could I doubt Trina? I apologize. Please feel free to text me if I ever fail to post it again. (I should have known when I saw Keely or Taylor's colored numbers on the blog document that I had not posted it.) Again, I am sorry.

MEAP tests begin Tuesday, October 12. Please encourage your students to eat a good breakfast and to get to bed early. I will try to control myself, so they will not have too much homework. J

Thank you so much for sending in your deposits for the eighth grade trip or for letting me know when the deposits will arrive. The number of travelers has increased. At present we have 17 students and 20 chaperones. When I have the names of everyone going, I will have the re-figured cost of the trip, but it will be less than the last amount I sent home.

The eighth grade trip fund-raising meeting took place today at 9:30 A.M. Thank you to all who were able to attend. Information about future fund-raisers will be coming home shortly. If you have any questions, please call Terrie Fiehn.

We recycled pop cans and bottles on Friday afternoon and had it all done in record time. Special thanks to Mrs. Schulz, Mrs. Budzak, Mrs. Harder, and Mrs. Davis. We could not have done it without them. We raised well over $500 for Groundwork Guatemala. Thank you.

Next week I will be sending home a permission slip for the October 18 trip to Macomb Center for the Performing Arts to see The Diary of Anne Frank. (See below)

viernes: Thank you for your trip deposits.

Trip News:
Dear Parents,
Thank you so much for sending in your deposits. I have almost all of them. We also have more folks going on the trip than originally planned on going, so the price of the trip should go down a bit. Hopefully everyone received an email from Terrie Fiehn about a fund-raising meeting next Sunday. If you have not received the email, give her a call. Thanks again, for helping get this trip going smoothly. I really appreciate it.
Blessings,

Sally Buss
