Carry the Joy of Jesus: Make a Ripple

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
Matthew 28:19-20

Sad news...

I know that all of you have heard about the passing of Joe’s dad, Joe Napier. We had an unusual day today, one I will never forget. Your children mourned, prayed, laughed and cried as we remembered Joe’s dad, our friend. You would have been moved at their mature handling of this very difficult situation. Joe’s funeral will be at Trinity at 11:00 Monday. The seventh and eighth grades will attend the funeral. Visitation is at Vicks in Mt. Clemens on Sunday from 2:00 until 8:00. Please keep Jennifer, Kayla, and Joe in your prayers as they go through this very difficult time. Additionally, the kids would like to do something to help, and I proposed we each bring a food item that we could deliver next week to help the family with meals for a few days. I will talk to Jennifer and find out if they have a freezer and what would be most useful.

Parents, if we have the snow storm of the decade as predicted Tuesday night, please encourage students to read the blog before they return to school. Stay safe, everyone!

Congratulations, Kyle and Trina for finishing first and second, respectively, in the National Geographic Geography Bee Friday. Kyle will represent Trinity at the state level. Great job, Kyle! Congratulations to Taylor Harder and Val Hallberg for winning first and second place in the Trinity Spelling Bee, respectively. Taylor will represent us in the Regional Meet on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the Macomb Center. Go Taylor!

Again, thank you all for your kind wishes and gifts for Christmas and the New Year. I am always grateful for your kindness and thoughtfulness. Blessings, for a happy, healthy New Year.

The number of travelers to New York City has decreased to 36. At present we have 17 students and 19 chaperones. The price of the trip, $784.30, will be going up a bit because we have had two moms drop out of the trip. Bills again were distributed a couple weeks ago and will be sent out again, next week. If any adult is still interested in going on the trip, please contact me immediately.

Romeo and Juliet is Monday, February 14, 2011 at 10:00 A.M., and The Secret Life of Bees, is Tuesday, March 22 at 1:00 P.M. (Remember when that sounded a long way off?)

Have a great week in the Lord,
Sally Buss
